Man killed after being crushed by falling pipe

For many Kentucky construction workers, going to work each day is a matter of necessity. Their job enables them to make a living, but not without significant exposure to dangerous hazards including falls, electrocution and equipment malfunctions. Despite workers' efforts to follow safety protocols and wear proper protective gear, accidents can still happen and result in debilitating injury or death.

This was the case in a recent case in Sandy, Utah when a worker was killed in a dramatic construction site accident. The man, who was employed by a third-party development group, was part of an effort to place heavy concrete pipes into trenches on a construction site. Sometime during the transfer of one of the pipes, the pipe became dislodged and fell, crushing the man underneath. The man's coworkers attempted to perform lifesaving measures, but the man was pronounced dead. Reports showed that the pipes onsite were nearly 4,000 pounds each. Authorities were investigating what may have caused the pipe to fall and how the man ended up underneath the felled pipe. OSHA had also sent people to the scene to complete a thorough investigation into the accident.

If a construction worker has been injured on the job, he or she may be eligible to receive compensation for injuries, required therapies and lost wages. For people seeking this type of compensation, they may benefit from the assistance of an attorney. A legal professional has the experience to help guide them throughout the process of building a persuasive case detailing the circumstances surrounding the injury.
