Investigation ongoing after M.T.A. worker falls to his death

While many employers in Kentucky take extensive precautions to protect their workers from danger, there are situations when environmental factors, distraction, equipment malfunctions and even human error can result in the injury or death of a worker. The risk of an employee suffering an injury on the job is heightened significantly depending on the industry he or she works in.

A recent incident in Manhattan, New York has left many unanswered questions after an employee of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority fell to his death while making repairs on a stretch of subway track. A relatively new employee of M.T.A., the man had been assigned to remove debris from one of the tracks when he apparently fell onto a lower track. The tunnel where the accident took place is an area where several trains pass at once, and the incident caused significant delays. The man suffered severe head trauma and was pronounced dead. An investigation into what caused the accident is ongoing.

If someone has been injured at work and is seeking compensatory damages, he or she may benefit from the experience and knowledge of an attorney. A legal professional has an understanding of how worker's compensation functions and may be able to help people develop a timeline that illustrates how their injury occurred and how it is related to their job. An attorney can also provide pointed direction in building a persuasive case that gives explanation for why the injured worker should receive compensation.
